Wow!! What a wonderful and rewarding trip. My daughter and I returned Saturday with no bumps or bruises. However we did come back with some great souvenirs, mosquito bites. Once I getting back into the daily routine at the clinic I will get some great photos up on the site. I took literally 1200 photos on the 6 day trip.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Yesterday Dr. Lee and Erika spent a day at an orphanage where Erika played with 58 children. The dental team was performing dental work on the kids while Dr. Lee was rendering medical care to infants. Today they are spending a day at another orphanage that receives no local support and they are really struggling. They have no hot water and the walls are covered with mold due to water damage. Our mission team will be repairing and repainting the wall as well as playing with the children at the orphanage. We sure look forward to their return to find out more details and as well as see pictures.

News from Guatemala. Dr. Lee and Erika had another adventurous day in the mountains. Erika was overwhelmed by children who were stumping over each other to get balloons and toys from her as well as trying to get more food by lying and hiding what they already had. People are walking there without shoes and dogs are wandering around skinny and hungry. Dr. Lee was able to provide medical care to a little girl who had 200 warts over her body and a grandpa who was deaf in one year but began to regain his hearing after Dr. Lee adjusted him. Dr. Lee also helped a little 4-year old old boy who was also deaf in one year and upon a closer look, Dr. Lee discovered that his ear was completely plugged and infected. It took him almost an hour to clean it out. Good news is the boy can hear again! Today they were going to head back to the city from the mountains and due to heavy rain on the mountain dirt roads, they were told they may have to walk back down. We are excited to hear about their service to the poor and that they are able to change lives in ways that they can. We are looking forward to additional updates from them and of course, we'll keep you posted.

Good news! Dr. Lee and Erika have reached Guatemala successfully. It took them 4 hours on a bus without A/C to get to the mountain where Dr. Lee spent the entire day rendering medical services to people and Erika doing face paintings on kids who were absolutely overjoyed and never had so much fun in their life before! We look forward to hearing more from them as they journey through this exciting advenuture! Stay tuned...

I'm conflicted because the end is near. I'm glad to be able to eat what I want, but will I? Just thinking about even going back to eating the same way I was before makes e a little ill. I guess it's not just a temporary thing, it's a life style change for the better.
